Massive bombing and attacks on the Omdurman market and the Omdurman hospital which are among the 67% have killed and injured civilians and obstructed access to healthcare for women, girls and children. It’s estimated than more than three quarters of a million children, under-fives will suffer acute malnutrition in Sudan this year. Dr Safaa Ali, an obstetrics and gynaecology specialist are the remaining few. She has managed to somehow evacuate her pregnant patients to another hospital and simultaneously rebuild the remnants of the hospital. Her children and husband have left the country. The frequent attacks and destruction continues to intensify and escalate even as she provides care to the patients. Nearly 15 million people are in need of medical assistance in a country where 70% of the health centres are out of service.
